Zoals de traditie der nieuwsbrieven het wil, moet er altijd een nieuwsbrief zijn met het alfabet erin verwerkt. Maak jullie dus maar klaar, want ik katapulteer jullie terug naar de lagere school!
A van aangenaam
Want dat was onze vorige repetitie wel! Wat was het zalig om eindelijk het concerto van Poulenc in zijn geheel te ontdekken en om te zien hoe vlot de solisten hun vingers over de piano zweefden…
Ook onze dirigent Steven was zeer tevreden over onze vorige repetitie:
“These 2 ladies and a boy, frontstage, where very happy with GUSO!
Again I was proud of you all … hospitable and friendly, respectful for the soloists. After a somewhat faint start… getting used to the acoustics and new setting, the orchestral sound and musical power grew in the good way… so, at 10 o’ clock, proud again on your musicianship too! Thanks a lot and let’s go sharp, high level now!”
B van bingewatchen
Misschien doe jij het wel al op Netflix, maar vanaf nu kan je ook onze vorige concertreeks ‘New World’ bingewatchen! Ga snel naar mega.nz en log je in met het volgende account: info@guso.be (wachtwoord: Gusoisleuk1). De opnames zijn uiteraard enkel bedoeld voor eigen gebruik (al hoef je er niet mee te schudden voor gebruik :)) dus het is niet de bedoeling om de beelden verder te verspreiden!
C van celli
De celli staan namelijk laatste (??!!) in de ticketwedstrijd met slechts 0,36 tickets gemiddeld (dus echt om spontaan in huilen uit te barsten)… Hier moet dus dringend verandering in komen!! Goed nieuws voor de bassen, want zij hebben ondertussen wél al tickets verkocht, dus geef ze maar een kort applaus.
Voor de competitiebeestjes onder ons, hier een voorlopige tussenstand:
- Slagwerk: 10 tickets gemiddeld
- 2e viool: 6,2 tickets gemiddeld
- 1e viool: 4 tickets gemiddeld
Er moeten nog heel veel tickets verkocht worden om de Christus-Koningkerk en de Bijloke uit te verkopen, dus ALLES GEVEN EH !!!
D van da’s gene kattepis!
Volgende week zal team animatie dan ook geen kattepis aan jullie voorschotelen, maar wel lekkere biertjes uit de streek! Wel moet ik jullie waarschuwen dat er in het verleden al GUSO’ers geweest zijn die zich hieraan fameus mispakt hebben… de beelden hieronder spreken voor zich…
En bovendien komt er volgende week een man met een baard langs om jullie wat verrijkende uitleg te geven over de stukken die we spelen. (En nee, voor de mensen die denken dat Sinterklaas langskomt, daar is het nog wat te vroeg voor… Begin je hoofd dus maar al te breken over wie ons een mysterieus bezoekje zal brengen volgende repetitie…) Het belooft héél gezellig te worden, dus blijf zeker plakken op de streekbierenavond!
E van España
Olé! Volgend semester gaan we op stage naar het prachtige Valencia! Maar voor we kunnen vertrekken, moeten Pieter en Briek natuurlijk eerst weten of jij meegaat! Heb je het formulier over de buitenlandse stage nog niet ingevuld? Doe het dan snel via deze link !
F van fazant, fazant, fazant, fazant, lesbische orgie!
…oei nee, ik bedoel eigenlijk de F van focus 😉 (Dit is duidelijk de reactie van een secretaris die te veel naar ‘Willy’s & Marjetten’ heeft gekeken!) Maar soit, focus is precies wat we nodig hebben in de komende weken tot aan de concerten! Daarom is het ook belangrijk dat jullie steeds aanwezig zijn op de repetities (tenzij je éééécht niet kan komen of later bent, dan mail je naar Marieke !). Hier vinden jullie het programma voor volgende repetitie:

Bij de repetities zal je wel al gemerkt hebben welke stukken er nog fout liepen bij jou persoonlijk. Neem die passages dus nog even onder handen en poets ze tot ze volledig blinken! Als iedereen hier even tijd voor vrij maakt, kunnen we samen echt een topconcert spelen!!
G van gierig
Zoals jullie misschien wel weten, zit Judith de laatste tijd een beetje op haar geld… Maar jullie kunnen haar helpen minder gierig te zijn door snel je stage te betalen (indien dat nog niet gebeurd zou zijn). (Voor de vergeetkousen onder jullie: Schrijf dus 50 euro over naar BE30 7370 1925 1311 en vermeld STAGE + VOORNAAM + ACHTERNAAM)
H van harmonie
En als we denken aan harmonie, denken we natuurlijk direct aan de Klara top 100! Wie dus zijn/haar stem nog niet heeft uitgebracht voor het Allegretto uit Beethoven 7 (in de categorie ‘evenwicht/harmonie’), wordt dringend verzocht dit te doen!! Schrijf ook zeker bij de opmerkingen dat jullie dit stuk spelen met het GUSO, of vertel gewoon een bangelijk GUSO-verhaal!
I van is dat hier bijna gedaan?
Jazeker! Jullie zijn aan het eind van deze nieuwsbrief gekomen (snif snif). Omdat sommigen onder jullie het geheugen van een goudvis hebben (en ik het zelf ook niet kan laten om verder te schrijven), heb ik nog eens alles op een rijtje gezet, speciaal voor jullie <3:

And our last rehearsal was amusing indeed! How wonderful was it to finally discover the concerto of Poulenc in its entirety and to see how smoothly the soloists floated their fingers over the piano …
Our conductor Steven was also very satisfied with our previous rehearsal:

B of binge watching

C of cellos
The cellos are the last (??!!) in the ticket contest with only 0.36 tickets on average (so that’s really to spontaneously burst into tears) … So here we need an urgent change! Good news for the basses, because they have already sold tickets, so give them a brief applause.
For the ‘competition beasts’ among us, here is a preliminary score:
- Percussion: 10 tickets on average
- 2nd violin: 6.2 tickets on average
- 1st violin: 4 tickets on average
Many tickets still have to be sold to sell out the Christus-Koningkerk and the Bijloke, so COME ON EVERYONE !!!
D of drinking
Next week, team animation will serve you nice regional beers! However, I have to warn you that in the past there have already been GUSO people who have foolishly committed themselves to this … the images below speak for themselves …
And besides, a man with a beard comes along next week to give you some enriching explanation about the pieces we play. So start to break your head about who will pay us a mysterious visit next rehearsal … It promises to be very cozy, so be sure to stay after the rehearsal!

At the rehearsals you will have noticed which pieces were still false qua intonation. So take a look at those passages and brush them until they are completely shining! If everyone makes some time for it, we can really play an excellent concert together !!

As you may know, Judith is a very generous person. But lately, she became a little stingy, because she hasn’t got the rehearsal weekend moneys from all of you… But you can help her by paying your ‘stage’ money (if you haven’t done that yet). (For the people who have forgotten: Transfer 50 euros to BE30 7370 1925 1311 and mention STAGE + FIRST NAME + LAST NAME)

And when we think of harmony, we naturally think of the Klara top 100! Those who have not yet cast their vote for the Allegretto from Beethoven 7 (in the category ‘balance / harmony‘) are urged to do so !! Also be sure to write in the comments that you are playing this piece with GUSO, or just tell a nice GUSO story!
