DONDERDAG, niet woensdag!
Donderdag 30 november is het generale repetitie van het Vioolconcerto. We zullen voor het eerst met de solisten repeteren. De repetitie zal doorgaan in het Sint Lievenscollege (Volmolentraat, Gent, ingang langs de groene poort). De planning:
19u15 allemaal aanwezig om de zaal mee klaar te zetten
19u30 vioolconcerto van Sibelius deel I met Roxane Leuridan
20u45 vioolconcerto van Sibelius deel II & III met Alexey Stychkin
21u45 slaap zacht met Solvejg ’s lied
Probeer allemaal ruim op tijd te komen. Onze tijd met de solisten is schaars en kostbaar, we willen er geen minuut van verliezen.
Wie woensdag wil…
Op woensdagavond zal Steven in de Therminal aanwezig zijn tussen 17u en 23u. Heb jij zin/nood om samen met Steven aan een bepaalde passage te werken? Stuur hem dan een mailtje (steven@guso.be) om af te spreken op welk tijdstip jullie samen kunnen werken. Doe je dit liever in groep? Vraag gerust aan je sectiegenoten of er iemand is die graag met jou mee gaat.
E.T.(ickets)
De jongen uit E.T. moest naar de ruimte fietsen, dat lijkt me geen gemakkelijke klus. Onze concerten uitverkopen lijkt me echter wel haalbaar! Maar dan moeten we allemaal een klein tandje bijsteken. Voor onze concerten in Gent zijn ongeveer 40% van de tickets verkocht. Er zijn dus nog veel lege stoelen die gevuld kunnen worden. Wees niet bang om te veel reclame te maken! Een bezoekje aan Klara kan iets doen, maar waarschijnlijk ook geen al te grote wonderen, dus flyer, mail, sms, Facebook en plak er op los!
Sommige secties kunnen het wel gebruiken om nog wat (lees: veel) tickets te verkopen. (Blazers, voel jullie vooral aangesproken). De huidige stand van zaken voor onze ticketwedstrijd:
- Slagwerk
- Tweede violen
- Altviolen
Het verschil tussen alle strijkerssecties is klein, er kan nog vanalles gebeuren. Het zal een spannende strijd zijn tot het bittere einde!
Wie o Wie?
Judith is nog steeds hard op zoek naar helpende handen. Komen helpen op GUSO concerten is een gezellige activiteit! Ideaal voor zussen, broers , vrienden of kotgenoten die eens een leuke muzikale en zeer goedkope avond willen beleven. Stuur gerust hun naam en emailadres door naar judith@guso.be!

Jullie hebben woensdag allemaal een uitgebreide concertbrief gekregen met daarop alle informatie over het verloop van de concerten. Ben je die brief nu al kwijt? Dan kan je hem hier nogmaals nalezen: concertbrief 2017 najaar
TIP: download de brief op je smartphone, dan heb je hem altijd bij je.
TIP2: Breng dit weekend je zwarte concertkledij met rood accent + zwarte schoenen al mee naar Gent, dan kan je ze volgend weekend al zeker niet vergeten.

THURSDAY, not Wednesday!
On Thursday November 30th, we will have the dress rehearsal of the Violin concerto. We will rehearse with soloists for the first time. The rehearsal will be at the Sint Lievenscollege (Volmolenstraat, Gent, entering through the green gate). We will rehearse as follows:
19h15 everybody present to help set up the room
19h30 violin concerto part I with Roxane Leuridan
20h45 violin concerto part II and III with Alexey Stychkin
21h45 a slow and sleepy end with Solvejg ’s song
Try to be very much on time this rehearsal. Our time with the soloists is short and precious, so we don’t want to waste a minute of it!
Who wants on Wednesday…
Steven will be at the Therminal on Wednesday evening between 17h and 23h. If you would like to work on certain passages with Steven, this is your chance! Send him an email (steven@guso.be) to make an “appointment”. If you would prefer working in group, ask your fellow musicians if anybody would like to join you.
E.T.(ickets)
The boy from E.T. had to ride his bike to space, that seems difficult to me. But selling out our concerts seems very realistic, if we step up our game! So far, we sold about 40% of the tickets. Don’t be afraid to promote our concerts too much! There’s no such thing as too much promo!
Some sections really could use it to sell some more tickets, or actually they could use it to sell a lot more tickets (Winds, I’m talking about you!). Take a look at the current position of the sections in the ticketing competition:
- Percussion
- Second Violin
- Viola
The difference between the strings is very small, and even the winds can still catch up if they want! Go go go go go!
Who o who?
Judith is still looking for helping hands. It is actually really fun to come help at our concerts. It’s perfect for brothers, sisters, friends or roommates who want to have a lovely musical and very cheap evening! If you know someone who wants to help, send their name and email address to judith@guso.be!

Everybody received the concert letter on Wednesday. This letter has all the information about the days of the concerts. If you lost the letter already, you can find it again here: concertbrief 2017 najaar
TIP: download the letter onto your smartphone, that way you will have it with you at all times
TIP2: Start thinking about your black (with a red accent) concert outfit already + don’t forget the black shoes! This way you don’t have to stress about it next week.
If there’s something on the letter that you really don’t understand, don’t be afraid to ask. You can always send an email to bestuur@guso.be and we will answer your question as soon as possible.
