Komkommer…
groeit aan een klimplant met grote groene bladeren. Alle GUSO’ers zijn in theorie groene blaadjes, en we klimmen ook steeds in niveau. Of dat van ons allemaal komkommertjes maakt laat ik aan jullie over om te beslissen. De repetitie woensdag zal er als volgt uitzien:
19u28: Op je stoel, klaar om te stemmen
19u30: Dvorak, deel IV
21u00: Dvorak, deel I
22u00: Cocktails!!!
Komkommer…
is een eenjarige vruchtgroente die behoort tot de familie van meloen en courgette. Als muzikanten behoren jullie allemaal tot de grote GUSO familie! Hoera! Met 63 gaan we binnenkort op familie–uitstap naar Hamburg. Haal je fotocamera alvast boven, want we gaan memorabele momenten beleven die je zeker wilt vastleggen voor de volgende generaties!
Komkommertijd…
Waarschijnlijk is het woord ‘komkommertijd’ overgenomen uit het Engels, waarin de term ‘cucumber time’ ontstond rond het jaar 1700. Het woord werd toen door kleermakers gebruikt om de periode aan te duiden waarin ze weinig te doen hadden. De adel, waar deze kleermakers vooral voor werkten, verruilde de stad in de zomer voor het platteland. Zo ontstond de grap dat de kleermakers zo weinig verdienden dat ze in de zomer slechts komkommers konden eten, omdat vlees te duur voor ze was.
Ondanks de komkommertijd van het GUSO, is er toch nog een heel leuk nieuwtje te melden: ER ZIJN NOG 5 TICKETS VOOR DE OPERA!!! Nu vrijdag gaan we naar de generale repetitie van de opera Parsifal van Wagner in de opera van Antwerpen. De opera begint om 18u en een ticket kost slecht 4 euro. Zin om mee te gaan? Mail snel naar animatie@guso.be of laat iets weten aan Emiel.
Komkommer…
is ideaal als side-dish, als lekker slaatje bij een warme maaltijd of gewoon als snack op een warme dag in de komkommertijd. Komkommer kan ook lekker als ingrediënt in een verfrissende cocktail. Of team sfeerbeheer woensdag een cocktail met komkommer zal maken is nog een verrassing. Wat we wel al weten is dat de cocktail heerlijk zal zijn en dat de opbrengst van de cocktails naar een goed-GUSO-doel gaan (weet je nog, die leuke cantus in Leuven). Dus breng gerust heel veel cash mee en be prepared voor cocktails en dansen dansen!

Cucumber…
grows on a climbing plant with green leaves. All GUSO members are green in theory, nice and young, and we our level is rising/climbing every week. Does that make cucumbers out of all of us? Well, I’ll let you decide that one. Rehearsal on Wednesday will be like this:

Cucumber…
Is a one year vegetable that belongs to the family or the zucchini and melons. As musicians, we are all part of the GUSO family. And good news, during the Easter holidays, we’re going on our annual family trip, this time to Hamburg. The 63 of us will probably have some memorable moments over there. So get out your camera and be prepared! You might capture some things on camera that future generations will want to see.
Cucumber time…
The concept of ‘cucumber time’ dates back to the year 1700. The word was used by tailors to name the period when they had very little work to do. The rich people went to the countryside for the summer, so the tailors in the city were very bored. They joked around saying that they could only eat cucumbers during the summer, because they did not earn enough money to eat meat.
Despite the GUSO cucumber time, I have something nice to announce: THERE’S STILL 5 TICKETS LEFT FOR THE OPERA!!! This Friday, GUSO will go to the dress rehearsal of the opera Parsifal, by Wagner in the opera in Antwerp. The opera starts at 18h and a ticket is only 4 euro. Interested to join us? is ideal as a side-dish, a nice salad on a hot summer day during cucumber time. Cucumber is also really nice in a cocktail. I cannot tell you whether or not there will be a cucumber cocktail on Wednesday. That is still a surprise, but what I can tell you is that the cocktail will be delicious and all the profit we make on them will go to a good-GUSO-cause. Hooray! So bring a lot of cash, and be prepared for cocktails and dancing!
