Liefste GUSO-ers,
Enkele weken geleden was het onze fantastische GUSO Quiz. Aan iedereen die erbij was: Proficiat!, aan iedereen die er niet bij was: volgende keer beter!
En omdat beelden veel meer zeggen dan woorden, wordt de nieuwsbrief deze week vergezeld door enkele sfeer beelden van de Quiz.
1. Partiële repetitie
Woensdag is het partiële repetitie (joepie!). Kijk dus vooral goed naar de verdeling en wees op tijd!
- 1e & 2e viool, altviool: lokaal 0.1 (campus Blandijn)
- Celli: leslokaal 1.1 (campus Rozier)
- Contrabassen: leslokaal 0.5 (campus Ledeganck)
- Hout: leslokaal 2.3 (campus Rozier)
- Koper + slagwerk: Trechterzaal (Therminal)
Het kot zal open zijn vanaf 19:00. Spreek af binnen uw sectie of jullie zelf pupiters meenemen of er komen halen in het kot. (Voor degene die op tijd zijn wacht er een leuke verrassing!!)
2. Money, money, money
De stage komt steeds dichter bij, dus wordt het ook tijd om de stage te betalen! Dit jaar kost de stage €430 (of €470 voor wie een bedje koos op de trein). Wie al een voorschot betaalde moet nog maar €230 (of €270 voor de bedjes) overschrijven.
Vianney rekent er op dat jullie trouw en op tijd zullen betalen!
3. Een beetje huiswerk (en info)
Nu je je stage hebt betaald, wil je toch mee?? Hier onder vinden jullie belangrijke info van ons reisbestuur (en ook een beetje huiswerk!).
Stagethema
Het stagethema is IKEA! Kom verkleed als Kallax kast, of als Zweeds balletje! Wij zijn benieuwd!
Huiswerk! (2 taken)
- Tegen woensdag 20/03 willen we aan iedereen vragen om hun interrail pas te activeren op hun gsm. Hiervoor hebben we een mooi stappenplan toegevoegd in de powerpoint “Hoe werkt interrail???”. [download PPT hieronder]
- Vul deze enquête in, voor jullie voedingsvoorkeuren (allergieën etc.) (ook tegen 20/03 liefst)
Valiezen
Alle valiezen en instrumenten kunnen (of moeten??) mee met de transdeco. Die mag je op woensdag 27 maart achterlaten in het kot. Denk dus al goed na over wat je allemaal wilt meenemen, want de kotstudenten onder ons moeten zeker op tijd inpakken!
Langer samen zijn, joepie!
Even een update over onze terugreis van onze buitenlandse stage. Er zijn spoorwerken gepland de dag dat we vertrekken, dus we moeten nog wachten op de definitieve planning van de Zweedse treindienst (die zijn al even traag als de NMBS seg). Dit betekent dat we nog niet precies weten wanneer we terug kunnen. Als je absoluut op zondag 7 april thuis moet zijn (of bijvoorbeeld maandag 8 april in de ochtend weg moet), stuur ons dan zeker een berichtje. We zoeken dan samen naar een oplossing, zodat je op tijd thuis kunt zijn.
Aan de anderen, geen stress, we geraken zeker thuis! (In het allerslechtste geval pas op maandag 8 april.)
Kamerverdeling
Hier is de officiële kamerverdeling, hier en daar hebben we wat moeten schuiven met extra kamers die we kregen. Ben je absoluut niet tevreden? Stuur ons dan een bericht en dan zien we wat nog mogelijk is!
4. Tickets aansmeren!
Zoals elke week is hier de tussenstand van de ticketwedstrijd:
- Altviool
- Slagwerk
- Viool 1
Wil je nu ook in deze top 3 komen? Liesel heeft het jullie zeer gemakkelijk gemaakt! In DIT documentje vind je kant en klare tekstjes om naar al je vrienden en familie te sturen. (Er zijn zelfs QR-codes voor in de Overpoort!)
5. Kotrolling!
Op donderdag 28/03 trekken we opnieuw op tocht doorheen verschillende koten. Er valt dus niets anders te doen dan inschrijven !
6. vrienden & hulpjes
We zijn opnieuw opzoek naar vrienden en hulpjes! Voor de nieuwe leden even een greep uit het GUSO-woordenboek:
- vriend: iemand die een beetje extra betaalt voor het ticket, maar in ruil de beste plaatsen, een cadeautje en onze eeuwige dankbaarheid krijgt
- hulpje: iemand die helpt voor of na het concert, maar in ruil helemaal gratis naar het concert mag komen
Ken jij iemand die vriend en/of hulpje wil zijn? Stuur hun contactgegevens door naar Kaat!
7. Unboxing!
Om de repetities nog een niveautje omhoog te tillen heeft het bestuur een cadeautje! Onze eigenste influencer maakte alvast een echte unboxing voor ons.
8. ideeën box
Wist je dat het GUSO een ideeën box heeft? Hier kan je al je ideeën achter laten om het GUSO nog beter, gezelliger, leuker, … te maken. Laat je dus maar gaan!

Dearest GUSO members,
A few weeks ago, we had our fantastic GUSO Quiz. To everyone who attended: Congratulations! To those who didn’t: better luck next time!
And because pictures speak louder than words, this week’s newsletter is accompanied by some atmosphere images from the Quiz.
1. Partial rehearsal
Wednesday is the partial rehearsal (yay!). So, pay close attention to the distribution and be on time!
- 1st & 2nd violin, viola: room 0.1 (Blandijn campus)
- Cellos: classroom 1.1 (Rozier campus)
- Double Basses: classroom 0.5 (Ledeganck campus)
- Woodwinds: classroom 2.3 (Rozier campus)
- Brass + percussion: Trechterzaal (Therminal)
The stockroom will be open from 7:00 PM. Coordinate within your section whether you bring your own music stands or pick them up at the stockroom. (For those who are on time, there’s a nice surprise waiting!!)
2. Money, money, money
The rehearsalweek (’stage’) is getting closer, so it’s time to pay the stage fee! This year, the stage fee is €430 (or €470 for those who chose a bed on the train). If you’ve already paid a deposit, you only need to transfer €230 (or €270 for the beds).
Vianney is counting on you to pay faithfully and on time!
3. A little homework (and info)
Now that you’ve paid your stage fee, you want to join, right? Below, you’ll find important information from our travel committee (and also a bit of homework!).
Stage Theme
The stage theme is IKEA! Come dressed as a Kallax shelf or a Swedish meatball! We’re curious!
Homework! (2 tasks)
- By Wednesday, March 20, we would like everyone to activate their interrail pass on their phone. We have added a nice step-by-step guide in the PowerPoint “How does interrail work???”. [you can download the PPT below]
- Fill out this survey for your dietary preferences (allergies, etc.) (also by March 20, preferably)
Luggage
All luggage and instruments can (or must??) be taken with the Transdeco. You can leave them in the stockroom on Wednesday, March 27. So, think carefully about what you want to take with you, because the dormitory students among us definitely need to pack on time!
Extended Time Together, yay!
Just an update on our return from our stage. There are scheduled track works on the day we leave, so we still have to wait for the final schedule from the Swedish rail service (they’re just as slow as the NMBS). This means we don’t know exactly when we can return yet. If you absolutely must be home on Sunday, April 7 (or for example leave on Monday, April 8 in the morning), be sure to send us a message. We will then find a solution together so you can be home on time.
To the others, don’t worry, we’ll definitely get home! (In the worst case, not until Monday, April 8.)
Room Allocation
Here is the official room allocation; we had to shuffle a bit with extra rooms we received. Are you absolutely not satisfied? Send us a message, and we’ll see what’s still possible!
4. Selling Tickets!
As every week, here’s the current standing of the ticket competition:

5. Dorm crawl!
On Thursday, March 28, we will set off again on a tour through various dormitories to party! So, nothing else to do than sign up!
6. Friends & Helpers
We’re once again looking for friends and helpers! For the new members, here’s a peek into the GUSO dictionary:
- friend (’vriend’): someone who pays a little extra for the ticket but gets the best seats, a gift, and our eternal gratitude in return
- helper (’hulpje’): someone who helps before or after the concert but gets to attend the concert completely free of charge
Do you know someone who wants to be a friend and/or helper? Send their contact details to Kaat!
7. Unboxing!
To take the rehearsals up a notch, the board has a gift for the orchestra! Our very own influencer has already made a real unboxing for us. (the video is in Dutch, but it’s an ideal way to practice your Dutch skils)
8. Ideas Box
Did you know that GUSO has an ideas box? Here, you can leave all your ideas to make GUSO even better, cozier, more fun, … So, let your imagination run wild!
